Happy 1600 Birthday Venice!

We celebrate this important day telling you an interesting piece of story.

Our family Bianchi Michiel comes from Venice and played a fundamental role for the city foundation. The Michiels is one of the 12 noble families so-called “apostolic” that erected Venice and elected the first “Doge“.

The Michiels, whose crest you see on this post, numbers three “Dogi”: Vitale, Domenico and Vitale II.

… and because of such importance of our family name, we’ve called our precious Chardonnay, quite a fine and elegant wine, MICHIEL.
